Ada Aimée de la Cruz Ramirez (born on June 15, 1986 in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Province, Dominican Republic) is Miss Dominican Republic 2009 and Miss Universe 2009 first runner-up.

She first came to fame as Miss Dominican Republic World 2007, where she placed in the top 15 at Miss World 2007 and was Miss World Beach Beauty 2007. She later was crowned Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2009. She represented the original home of her grandparents, the Province of San José de Ocoa and represented the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 2009 gaining high praise and finishing as First Runner Up.

She is the second woman of mixed African and Spanish heritage to win the Miss Dominican Republic pageant (the first was Ruth Ocumárez in 2001).

Ada was born in Villa Mella and raised in Villa Altagracia and returned to Santo Domingo at the age of 14, lives with her mother Ana Martínez Ramírez, grandparents Celeste Ramírez and Ventura Garabito, her younger brother Adrián and her little cousin. In the Dominican press, she is known as a Dominican Cinderella, in which her grandmother was a maid and her whole family grew up poor.

Marianne Cruz González (April 23, 1985) is the 2008 Miss Dominican Republic and was the second runner-up in the Miss Universe 2008. She was born in Salcedo, Dominican Republic.

Born in Salcedo, Dominican Republic, Marianne is the youngest of three sisters. Her parents got divorced when she was young.

At the age of 16, Cruz began mountain climbing. She has climbed the highest elevation of the West Indies, The Pico Duarte, in Dominican Republic. Cruz is studying fashion design at Santo Domingo, and is the voice of many charity campaigns in Dominican Republic.

She participated in the Miss Dominican Republic 2007 beauty pageant. Despite her popularity, and her being the favorite candidate during the competition, she lost to Massiel Taveras the candidate from the province of Santiago.

Later on Cruz went on to participate in the Miss Continente Americano 2007 beauty pageant. She became the winner having been preceded by Mia Taveras, Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2006.

When Cruz was declared the winner of Miss Continente Americano 2007, many were upset because the Dominican Republic had won this pageant two times in a row by Mia Taveras in 2006 and Marianne Cruz in 2007.

After having disputed this title with 8 beauties coming from various areas of the country. Marianne Cruz 22-year-old became Miss Dominican Republic 2008 and received the crown from Massiel Taveras, Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2007.

After winning, she was given the right to participate on Miss Universe 2008, where she had a controversial but great participation, impressing the judges and getting the title of second runner up, the third highest position Dominican Republic has gotten in Miss Universe, alongside with Renata Soñé and after Ada de la Cruz, first runner up Miss Universe 2009, following Amelia Vega.

Renata de Jesús Soñé Savery (born August 6, 1982) is a former Dominican American beauty queen who competed in the Miss Universe 2005 pageant, finishing second runner-up after winning Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2005. Previously a model as well, she now works as an actress and television host.

Soñé won the title of Miss Dominican Republic 2005 on April 9, 2005 representing the province of the capital, Distrito Nacional. She went on to compete in the Miss Universe 2005 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand, where she finished second runner-up to Natalie Glebova of Canada. and appears in the Miss Universe Organization's book "Universal Beauty" as the contestant with the best body in the history of the pageant.

At six months of age, Soñé was left in the care of her grandparents after her mother's death. She went on to pursue a degree in clinical psychology before participating in the Miss Dominican Republic pageant. Of her long term career goals, Soñé has said she wishes to found a children's institute to continue her interests as a psychologist. To this end, she has been the spokesperson of many campaigns headed by Dominican Attorney General Rossana Reyes designed to discourage child neglect, and curtail the high number of abandoned children through education and public awareness.

Mía Lourdes Taveras López (born July 4, 1986) was Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2006. She competed in the Miss Universe 2006 beauty pageant in Los Angeles, California on July 23, 2006.

Taveras represented the Santiago province during the national pageant which took place on December 18, 2005. She was one of the early favorites, along with the contestant from the Espaillat province, Eva Arias Viñas, and Dawilda Gonzalez Cid, who represented the Distrito Nacional. Arias came in as first runner-up, while Gonzalez came in as second runner-up.

During the pageant, Taveras also won the Miss Rostro award, which is awarded to the candidate that is considered to have the most beautiful face in the competition, and placed first on the national costume competition.

Prior to winning the Miss Dominican Republic pageant, Taveras was an industrial engineering student at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, located in Santiago de los Caballeros. Taveras also studied jewelry design at the Altos de Chavón Design School, located in the La Romana province .

Taveras won the 2006 Miss Continente Americano Beauty Pageant and the Miss Global Cities in Taiwan in 2006. She became the first one to win the pageant. She was preceded by another Dominican woman Marianne Cruz.

Massiel Indira Taveras Henríquez (born 1984) is Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2007. She was the successor of Mía Taveras López, her cousin. She graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and became a lawyer and a designer.

Massiel is daughter of Damían Taveras and Carmen Henríquez de Taveras. She has six brothers, among them, the conductor of television and ex- queen of beauty Rita Isaura Taveras.

Massiel Indira Taveras Henríquez competed in Mexico City on May 28 at the Miss Universe 2007 pageant. After being among of the favorites Taveras did not place.

On October 26 Taveras was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2007 during an event held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia ; she also won the most beautiful face award and best figure award.
